Affiliate Junktion Review
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Paul_Van_Aspert]Paul Van Aspert
Affiliate programs come and go; many are incredibly successful, while some are dismal failures if not downright scams. Affiliates come and go as well, for a myriad of reasons, and I think the number one reason is the lack of investigation before jumping in with both feet. Like the old adage goes; 'Fools rush in'.
So, before diving into the sea of marketing and promotion, a person really has to test the waters first. You really can't investigate your potential choice of programs enough, and there are plenty of free and truly useful tools available for you to download and use for your investigation.
Here's a few examples of the things you should be looking into, I call it page metrics, or stats interchangeably, page rank is measured by all the larger search engines, Google, MSN, Yahoo, Altavista etc. these statistics will give you a pretty solid idea as to a websites' success and popularity.
The WayBackMachine is also an indispensible tool that's just a click away.
WhoIs Lookup, also a necessity, with this you can find out how long they have been around, where they are located and lots of other info. Also an excellent source for information for both affiliate programs as well as great tools, are forums dedicated to just that, reviews, hints, tips, tricks and of course tools.
I've been doing my own investigation now for about four weeks, and my target of interest is Affiliate Junktion.
Actually, I signed up for Affiliate Junktion four weeks ago; I've seen their ads about two or three weeks earlier than that though. I use ClixSense, both for advertising and to find potentially good offers by looking at ads, Affiliate Junktion really started to stand out because of the frequency of their ads. So I decided to click on the ads and go to their landing page. From there I'd start my investigation, the first thing I check is the WayBackMachine.com, but in this case there is nothing to find, which indicates that Affiliate Junktion is no more than six or eight months old.
Now, this is usually the first thing I do just out of habit, next I go after the page rankings. For a website that's only six to eight months old, Affiliate Junktion has some pretty impressive numbers, with an overall PR of 3/10-- Alexa 42,532 and Compete.com at 44,982-- WOW! That is impressive for a website that's so new.
Let's compare this to Magnetic Sponsoring from Mike Dillard, who is a very successful online entrepreneur, his websites stats are as follows... WBM March 9, 2005 overall PR 1/10-- Alexa 22,200 and Compete.com 61,249-- this site is almost three years old and very popular. I'll be writing a review about Magnetic Sponsoring another time.
Signing up, the landing page is mercifully short, I really don't care for the so called silo type landing page, I find they are way too much to read and its usually the same thing repeated over and over again, one testimonial after another, Affiliate Junktion has one testimonial, and a very rare offer, "Register today and you will receive a $75 bonus payment just for signing up to our program". And then for every sign-up you generate there is a $2.00 - $5.00 commission. The more sign-ups you get the higher the pay rate.
After sign-up you receive an e-mail describing how to proceed, this is when the real decision is made, the cost out of my pocket was $60.25 CDN (price will vary according to the exchange rate) and this is what I received:
· 1,500 MB disk space
· 15,000 MB monthly bandwidth
· One FREE Domain Name
· SSL/CGI/PHP
· 25 MySQL databases
· E-Commerce enabled
· Marketing / Content Package
· $30 Google AdWords credit
· $50 Yahoo Search Marketing credit
· Choice of website builders and templates
· Host 25 domains in one
This website hosting package is an amazing opportunity to grow and expand your online presence, I've installed WordPress blogging software as well as a forum from phpBB for the future I plan on installing Moodle, which is a course management system designed to help educators who want to create quality online courses.
With a package like this the sky is not the limit; a person could create any kind of web presence he or she could imagine. Creating multiple streams of income with this package would be a snap! And you can do all of this from the comfort of your own home.
All this plus the $75 sign-up bonus (I already have a profit of $14.75) I challenge anyone to find a better deal than that. If you have any questions or comments about Affiliate Junktion or the tools and websites I've mentioned you can e-mail at:

I hope you find this short review helpful and informative, I'll be writing more reviews about affiliate programs and the things that go with them. You can also visit my Blog to learn more about me and what I'm up to. It's a work in progress and I hope it stays that way.
Thank You,
